Bus and truck advertising uses the large flat panels of buses, trailers and box trucks as high-reach mobile billboards that broadcast your brand across Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman and Abu Dhabi highways. K.A.T SIGNS designs, prints and installs large-format vehicle graphics in-house and handles the RTA or SEDD approval for commercial heavy vehicles.
What is bus and truck advertising?
Bus and truck advertising is large-format vehicle branding applied to the expansive sides, rears and panels of buses, trucks and trailers, turning them into some of the biggest moving advertisements on the road. The sheer surface area of a box truck side or a bus flank gives you billboard-scale visibility that travels the emirate rather than staying fixed on one road. These vehicles spend their day on major arterials and highways where traffic is dense and dwell time is high, so a single branded trailer earns exposure across huge stretches of Dubai and Sharjah daily. It is outdoor advertising that moves to where the audience is.

Why choose vehicles over static billboards?
You choose branded buses and trucks over static billboards because the vehicle reaches multiple locations for one cost while a billboard stays in a single spot you pay to rent. A branded truck delivering across Dubai passes through business districts, residential areas and industrial zones in one day, exposing your brand to audiences a fixed board never reaches. If the vehicle is one you already operate, the media is essentially free reach on an asset you run anyway. Even a dedicated advertising vehicle competes strongly on cost per impression because there is no recurring site rental. For businesses running heavy vehicles, this is the highest-reach branding available, and it pairs naturally with a wider fleet branding programme.
Does bus and truck advertising need RTA approval?
Yes. Commercial buses and trucks branded in Dubai need RTA approval, and the vehicle must be registered under the company name on a matching trade licence. The standard rules apply: at least 50 percent Arabic text, only Arabic and English, no 3D elements, no QR codes or barcodes, and no branding on the windshield or side windows, though rear perforated film on a bus is sometimes permitted. Large vehicles carry large designs, so getting the Arabic proportion and layout right at scale matters. K.A.T SIGNS prepares compliant large-format artwork and submits it through our RTA and SEDD pre-approval service. Our RTA vehicle branding approval guide details the requirements for heavy vehicles.
What materials suit large-format vehicle graphics?
Large-format truck and bus graphics use cast, UV-stable vinyl with a strong laminate because the panels are big, flat and fully exposed to the sun for hours. On surfaces this large, cheap calendered film shows every flaw, fades unevenly and lifts at the seams, whereas cast film laminated for UV holds a solid, even colour across a whole trailer side for years. For riveted or corrugated truck bodies we use films and techniques that conform around the profile so graphics do not tent or tear over rivets. The bigger the panel, the more the quality of the material and the skill of the installation show, which is why large-format is not a job for shortcuts.
